David Berkheimer is the Senior Pastor at Community Church. David was born in Battle Creek, Michigan in October 1936. He graduated from Central High School in 1954 and received a diploma from Central Bible College of Springfield, MO in 1957. David received his B.A. in Theology.
David and Valda were married in August of 2005. Brother David has 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren. One daughter is ordained and has created and directs Camp His Way, a Christian children's camp ground and retreat center on Lake Sam Rayburn.
David's ministry experience includes pastoring 4 Assemblies of God churches:
First Assembly of God - Mission, TX - 1958-1961
First Assembly of God - Point Comfort, TX - 1961-1963
First Assembly of God - Rosenberg, TX - 1963-1972
From 1972-1974, David and Melba did missions work in Portugal
First Assembly of God - Rosenberg, TX - 1974-1979
Community Church - Orange, TX - 1979-Present
Community Church has grown from an average worship attendance of 275 to 900 at present. Community also has a Christian School, accredited through the 12th grade by ACSI, that presently has 285 students.
